The cheaper cables have smeary colors, horizontal discolored lines, and horrible ghosting. You bought an HDTV too look good, why cheap out on the cables. Especially on medium to large TV's.
Contrast is poor, making Blacks Gray. The MONSTER CABLES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. The cheaper cables look passable for unmoving pictures, like menus, or the transition cartoon drawings in GTA3, but not for a moving picture.
It does make a difference to those with a trained eye. Also the picture isn't sharp, and the colors are muted. The Monster cable make the picture sharp enough to shave with, and the colors and contrast pop.
I own both the Monster Cables and the cheaper eBay cables. FOR EXAMPLE: you get motion blur with games that looks like the motion blur in GTA 3 and Vice City/.
However, this cable falls one star short of perfect because of the thick cable connectors. Monster made a great cable here, and after a year of service they still provide a great signal through my component video switcher. As everybody else will tell you, there is noticeable improvement in the video quality with these cables. When I bought these cables a year ago, I was hoping for something a little cheaper, but your options are limited these days. They were difficult to plug into my switcher and leave room for other normal sized cables. Monster is notorious for overpricing their products, even if they are of good quality, but in all honesty ~$20 for video game component cables is a pretty good price. The Sony component cables are hard to find, and I don't want to be stuck with another MadCatz clunker. I was using a pair of aforementioned MadCatz S-Video cables for my PS2, and while they did provide a better picture than the standard composite cables, they crapped out within 18 months.
noise is reduced dramatically. excellent quality. only downside is the blueness of the cable looks out of place. i am very satisfied. i used this to hook up my ps3 to my mixer since i dont have fibre optic audio. there is a very large difference in quality.
very good quality cables. ship fast, and good video quality.it also has the 2 stereo connections, i don't use them but there there if any one needs them.
Why it's like this is beyond me, but the product description doesn't do a very good job relaying this information, and as a result I wasted my money buying this product. I bought this thinking it was an all-in-one S-Video/audio cable, and it isn't. It has a separate digital audio cable, a feature not many people even use.
